Each notebook is handmade; starting from curating the discarded craft papers, assembling every page, making the hardcover, binding and sewing it all together, plus lamination. We can’t say that this is the best notebook ever made, but what we can assure you, is that it was carefully put together with sustainability in mind to make it unique, one piece at a time. Each notebook is different and outstanding even though they are all made of the same materials.
The cover page is made of recycled recipe packaging materials imported from Japan by Yuko, a restaurant based in Kampala, Uganda. Each notebook features bold Japanese characters that we can’t read ourselves – in itself, that’s special to us. Everyone who owns a piece should know that what they’re getting is coming straight from the hands of the creators.
By purchasing a notebook, you not only support us to continue recycling single-use materials but enable children to raise their school fees as well as an income to the youths who make these books with love.
