Old jeans, a fresh story. Made in Uganda from recycled denim, this sturdy tote brings bold colour to your everyday carry, with strong denim straps and a handy outer pocket for the little things you reach for most.
The synthetic-leather front features a print of The Giraffe by Wujja, one of the children in the Faces Up programme. Turn it around to discover the patchwork denim, thoughtful stitching and the artwork’s QR label.
The artwork, in Wujja’s words
I have always wondered how a giraffe can eat plants covered in thorns and still keep going. I admire how it rises above everything around it, able to see far beyond what others may see.
To me, the giraffe represents strength, patience and a different way of seeing the world. It reminds me that sometimes, being able to look beyond what is right in front of us can help us see possibilities that others might miss.
There is so much to admire about this animal, but what I love most is its ability to keep reaching, even when the path is not easy.
Perhaps that is something we can all learn from the giraffe: keep reaching, keep looking further, and never let the thorns stop you.
