ARTISTIC Denim Kimono, The Afro Face

The ARTISTIC Denim Kimono is cut from durable denim in one easy, unisex shape that sits the same on every body. It wears open at the front, with the weight to hold its line and soften as you wear it.

The design sits on the two front lower pockets, each printed with a design inspired by an original painting by a child in our programme, here The Afro Face by Ndagire. Patterned African ribbon finishes the edges; ribbon colour may vary. Machine washable, do not bleach.

The artwork: Whenever I look at an African face, I see beauty, strength, and a story. That is what inspired me to create The Afro Face. I wanted to celebrate the pride I feel in being African and remind myself that our identity is something beautiful. I created this artwork using a simple wooden print with red and black; for me, the colours and the face come together to tell a story of identity and pride. As you look at this artwork, I hope it reminds you to be proud of who you are and the story you carry.
