Boda Boda rider

$65

During the lockdown, Boda Boda riders were only allowed to carry one person.

My father being a Boda Boda rider, always took my mother first before anyone else. This artwork was inspired by an early morning trip where my father carried my mother while she was carrying my little brother. My father treats my mother like a queen – Ashameza

Bicycles were a common means of transport in Kampala and Uganda at large during lockdown. When cars were not allowed to be driven, almost everyone used a bike to travel to any place they wanted.  As seen in the artwork, Ashemeza painted one of her lockdown memories where her father took the mom to the village by bike. She recalls that they had to spend hours on the way however, they never gave up until they reached their destination.
