Pangolins are among the most trafficked and hunted animals in the world, targeted for their scales and other body parts. If we don't protect them, we risk losing them forever. For me, this painting is deeply personal. As someone from the Pangolin clan in Buganda, I feel a cultural connection to this remarkable animal and a responsibility to speak for its protection. Pangolins help keep nature in balance by feeding on ants and termites that can damage crops. As part of the Uganda Postage series, this artwork is a reminder that when we protect our wildlife, we protect nature, and ultimately, ourselves.
