Whenever I see the crested crane, I think about Uganda. It is our national bird, and whenever people from around the world see it, they are reminded of our beautiful country. I love the golden feathers on its head and the way it stands so proudly. It makes me feel proud to be Ugandan too. I painted this crested crane as part of my Uganda Postage series, where I celebrate the incredible wildlife that makes Uganda such a special place. I hope that when someone takes a picture of a crested crane home, they will carry a small piece of Uganda with them and remember the beauty they found here.
