Every animal deserves to have a home. A place where it can sleep without being disturbed. This artwork is about a birdhouse that community members built for a bird that woke them up every day. This story was from a book that I read, but I don’t remember the name. What I recall is how beautiful the bird was and its house too. – Swabura

I miss village life especially hunting. I remember the times when I used to escort my father and uncles to go hunting. Every time we went, Simba our beloved dog used to go along with us since it was faster at chasing after wild animals. Some days we used to come back home with a hunt while on other days, we weren’t able to. Whenever we captured an animal, however small it was, we felt happy – Mwebaza

One of the kind notebook
Each notebook is handmade; starting from curating the discarded craft papers, assembling every page, making the hardcover, binding and sewing it all together, plus lamination. We can’t say that this is the best notebook ever made, but what we can assure you, is that it was carefully put together with sustainability in mind to make it unique, one piece at a time. Each notebook is different and outstanding even though they are all made of the same materials.
The cover page is made of recycled recipe packaging materials imported from Japan by Yuko, a restaurant based in Kampala, Uganda. Each notebook features bold Japanese characters that we can’t read ourselves – in itself, that’s special to us. Everyone who owns a piece should know that what they’re getting is coming straight from the hands of the creators.
