My father works in Kosovo trading centre as a Boda Boda rider. They have a stage where they park their motorcycles in front of a mobile money shop. At their stage, when they see a customer coming, every one of them rushes to go and pick him or her. He tells me that life there is fun but sometimes challenging because some days, he can return without any money because customers are lost. I did this artwork to celebrate my father and his job, I hope to become a doctor when I grow up and support my family. – Agaba

My father works as a Boda Boda man. Both my parents are so proud of it. At first, my father used to ride someone else’s motorcycle but I call in 2028, he bought his own from the money he had saved for a while. Nabulime is an 18-year-old multimedia artist. Her artworks seek to echo the life and struggles of young girls to engage the audience in examining the silenced world of teenage girls. While she uses a variety of materials and processes in each art piece, her methodology is consistent. This work explores a young girl with extreme self-worth with flowers blossoming all over her.Â
She has no grand illusions that art will create a revolution in the traditional sense, but she has witnessed the powerful changes it can make in an individual. Just one new idea can change a person’s perception. Creating art isn’t just an occupation to her; it’s a passion she enjoys bringing life to the canvas with vibrant colours and finding new ways to make people see things.
