A Grio was a title given to the woman, entrusted to keep the stories and secrets of the Kingdom. She was also expected to pass them on to the next generation to preserve the Kingdom’s origin and history, so they are never forgotten. The story told through this comic book, highlights different ways in which women’s rights are violated and how they can stand up for themselves first and then with the help of others.
The main character in this book is named “Grio”, a brave, courageous lady who did all in her capacity to fight for the rights of girls and women…. so GRIO fights due to the inequalities women face due to their gender. Written and Illustrated by Mayambala Ezra

My father works in Kosovo trading centre as a Boda Boda rider. They have a stage where they park their motorcycles in front of a mobile money shop. At their stage, when they see a customer coming, every one of them rushes to go and pick him or her. He tells me that life there is fun but sometimes challenging because some days, he can return without any money because customers are lost. I did this artwork to celebrate my father and his job, I hope to become a doctor when I grow up and support my family. – Agaba

She has no grand illusions that art will create a revolution in the traditional sense, but she has witnessed the powerful changes it can make in an individual. At school, no one knew about comic art, and now, many know him as a comic artist. He started drawing when he was a senior because he enjoyed reading comic books. One day, he challenged himself to draw all the animations he watched. He wants to get better and use his comics to educate people about different things and entertain them. As he learns more about comics–he wants to venture into photography, videography, animations, and movies. As a research-oriented artist, this has helped him better his style and content. He walks to internet cafes to surf and learn more about comics, other artists in the world.
