As little children, our parents used to take us to the playgrounds to swing. Every child loved to be at the playgrounds. We made a lot of new friends and also meet old ones too. These memories are still in my head and that’s why I am able to paint them. – Ninsima

In this artwork, I painted my parents returning from work. Whenever my father is done with his work, he usually goes to pick my mother at her workplace and they return together. By evening, we are always looking through the windows to see if they are on their way. When we see them, we are always excited especially when they come carrying something in their hands – Dakira

Mayambala, 16 years, Ugandan. Just like when people enjoy football, he enjoys comics. Julius loves to draw every time. At school, no one knew about comic art, and now, many know him as a comic artist. He started drawing when he was a senior because he enjoyed reading comic books. One day, he challenged himself to draw all the animations he watched. He wants to get better and use his comics to educate people about different things and entertain them. As he learns more about comics–he wants to venture into photography, videography, animations, and movies. As a research-oriented artist, this has helped him better his style and content. He walks to internet cafes to surf and learn more about comics, other artists in the world.

During the lockdown, we planted a lot of crops including maize, cabbage and other vegetables so that they could grow fast and provide us with the food we needed since my parents were no longer working. When we were planting, it was so tiring but when it reached harvesting time, everyone was so happy since we saw the reward of our energy. I can’t forget that time – Mulukusa

In 21centery black people are still considered as products that can be SOLD and BOUGHT !!?, that’s TERRIBLE!, No one can understand their voices that why to try to speak out for them maybe people can understand and help them. Like Tupac once said, “I can’t change the world but I can change the minds of people who can the world”. I know too I can change the world but I can connect as many minds as possible and inspire change” – Makano
